On foot, the bush reveals itself differently. You notice tracks, scents and the small details a vehicle rushes past. It's immersive, humbling and utterly memorable.
A walking safari is not a strenuous hike — it's a slow, sensory journey. Led by an armed professional guide and tracker, you walk at a relaxed pace, stopping frequently to examine tracks, plants and insects.
Walks typically last 2–4 hours and take place in the early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are cool. You'll learn to identify bird calls, read animal tracks, and understand the intricate web of life that makes up the bush.
Children aged 12+ are welcome on most walking safaris. No prior experience is needed — just a sense of curiosity and comfortable walking shoes.
